CHELSEA- On July 1, 2017, the City of Chelsea will be celebrating Chelsea Fest and their annual fireworks show, the Big Kaboom. The location of this event will be in the grass fields behind the Dairy Queen and Winn Dixie.

To ensure the safety of those in the area, both north and southbound lanes of Chelsea Road between U.S. 280 and Chesser Crane Road will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, July 1 from 4-11 p.m.

Additionally, Chelsea Corners Way will be closed to through traffic at the intersection in front of Benson Plaza. There will be signs in the area directing citizens to event parking as well as detours around the event.

Traffic from 280 will access Chelsea Road via a detour to Shelby County 39. Chelsea Road traffic will access U.S. 280 via the same detour to Shelby County 39. Sheriff’s deputies will be in the area to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
