Vandiver man charged with sodomy, sex abuse

COLUMBIANA- A Vandiver man was arrested and charged with sodomy in the first degree and sexual abuse in the first degree on Friday, June 9.
Marcus Allen Rose, 42, who lists an address on Shelby County 43, was arrested by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. According to his arrest warrants, Rose allegedly subjected a victim to “sexual contact by forcible compulsion,” and engaged in “deviate sexual intercourse with [a victim] who is less than 12 years old” between November 2011 and November 2014.
Sodomy in the first degree is a class A felony, which could result in a prison sentence of 10 years to life and up to $60,000 in fines if Rose is convicted.
Rose is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $75,000. His case was assigned to Shelby County District Court Judge Daniel A. Crowson.
