HELENA–Summer is officially here and for many churches in the Helena area that means it is time to gear up for vacation bible school.

For many churches, staff members spend a lot of time in the spring planning and preparing for summer vacation bible school that usually takes place one or more weeks in the summer.

Here is a compiled list of churches in the Helena area that will be hosting vacation bible school:

–Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church will host vacation bible school June 4-8 from 5:30-8 p.m. and the closing service will be held June 9 at 7 p.m. with an ice cream social.

–First Baptist Church of Helena will host vacation bible school June 5-9 from 6-8:30 p.m.

–The Church at Cahaba Bend will host vacation bible school June 11-15. On June 11, VBS will kick off at 9:15 a.m. June 12-15 VBS will be at 6 p.m.

–Crossbridge Community Church will host VBS June 12-16 from 9 a.m. to noon. The finale on June 16 will begin at 11:30 a.m.

–Riverside Baptist Church will host VBS June 26-30 from 9 a.m. to noon.

–Helena United Methodist Church will host VBS July 10-13 from 9 a.m. to noon for kids entering K4 through fifth grade. The T-shirt order deadline is June 25.

–Gospel Light Baptist Church will host VBS June 25-29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for kids entering K4 through sixth grade.
