DUNNAVANT -The remains of a missing Dunnavant man were recovered on Monday, May 15.
According to the St. Clair Coroner’s Office, search dogs located 49-year-old Timothy Norwood’s body at Hill House Lake in Dunnavant at approximately 10:30 a.m.
“Evidently, he had been at that lake several times before,” St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell said.
Norwood was reported missing from Beechwood Trail in Dunnavant on Monday, May 6. His vehicle was later located near Mimosa Road and Arlington Drive.
Russell said the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office spearheaded the search for Norwood, and said his body was recovered through the efforts of the Dunnavant Fire Department and the Leeds Fire Department Dive Team.
While no foul play is suspected, Russell said authorities are currently waiting for autopsy results from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Huntsville Regional Laboratory.
