Betty Higgins, age 80, of Shelby, passed away Monday, May 8.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 10 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Randal Mims officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Garden of Rest. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Higgins was a textile worker at ECA and Valley Mills. She decorated meticulously for years for every holiday for the enjoyment of all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Clay Hamilton and Ora B. Hamilton; husband, Johnnie E. Higgins; son, Michael A. Higgins; granddaughter, Julie Kay Higgins.

Mrs. Higgins is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ann Higgins; grandsons, John Matthew Headley (Stephanie), and Michael Headley (Sabrina); great grandsons, John Christian, Jacob, Landon, and Luke; great granddaughters, Haven Rose Headley, and Kelsie; nephews, Adam House, Lee House, and Rodney E. Hamilton; brother, Roy Hamilton (Sylvia); sister, Peggy Hamilton; daughter in law, Charlotte Smith; and a host of family and friends.
