PELHAM – Chainsaw carving art gallery and studio, Woodlot Artisans, is hosting a meet and greet and a chainsaw carving class on Saturday, April 15.
Co-owner Justin Bailey said the five-hour chainsaw carving class is suitable for beginners as well as intermediate carvers. The class will be carving a piece called Cub in a Stump.
“We have room for 10 people,” Bailey said. “There will be five students per instructor. We have room for six or seven more people.”
The class costs $175 and students are encouraged to bring as many of their own tools as possible. All tools should be tested prior to attending the class. A list of needed tools can be found at Woodlotartisans.com/classes.
Bailey, who owns Woodlot Artisans with his wife Heather, said the gallery offers at least one chainsaw carving class per month. The studio is located at 2401 State Park Road.
There will also be an opportunity for class participants to meet carvers from around the nation.
“There will be at least three carvers and maybe more for guests to meet,” Bailey said. “These guys travel all over competing in competitions, so to get to meet them and see them carving will be a cool opportunity for people. They’ll get to meet the people who make our gallery possible.”
