PELHAM – Tiger Rock Martial Arts is hosting a grand opening event on Saturday, April 8, and will be giving away free martial arts lessons and a uniform to the first 30 people who show up at the event.

Tiger Rock is located at 2748 Pelham Parkway in the Shelby Mart shopping center and the grand opening will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

Facility manager Meredith Little said the free lessons giveaway will include three free introductory courses.

During the grand opening, there will be free martial arts sessions for beginners and advanced students. The session for children ages 4-6 will begin at 9 a.m., beginners age 7 and up will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and advanced students will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Little said the grand opening serves as an opportunity for the public to try out martial arts to see if it’s something they’re really interested in and to see if Tiger Rock is a good fit for them.
