Pauline T. “Polly” Shirey, age 89, of Calera, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28.

She was a member of South Shelby Baptist Church. She loved her children, travelling and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hilton Shirey, Sr., parents, Edgar Lee and Tishie Trice; and brothers, Daniel Lee, Dallas Leon, Calvin Curtis, Harold L. and Bobby Ray Trice.

She is survived by daughters, Deborah Jean Shirey of Calera and Janice Shirey Walton (Kerry) of Calera; son, Hubert Hilton Shirey, Jr. of Calera; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and sister, Alice Fay Trice of Pinson.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
