Violet Arledge

Violet Arledge, age 97, of Shelby, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 with Rev. Randal Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Garden of Rest. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Arledge is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Arledge, Sr.; son, Sam Arledge, Jr.; and siblings, Olaf, Wilmont, Bob, and Bertie Jones.

She is survived by her son, Charles W. Arledge (Carole); grandchildren, Dedra Arledge, Jason Arledge (Amanda), Melody Byrne (Scott), and Sam Arledge (Marcela); great grandchildren, Rebekah and Noah Arledge, and Nate and Zeke Byrne; and numerous other family and friends.
