Karl Heinz Schroedersecker, age 82, of Chelsea, died Sunday, Feb. 5.

The memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was born in Peterstal/Heidelberg, Germany on March 6, 1934. He immigrated to the United States in 1954. He made his living as a master stonemason and builder. He retired to Alabama from New Jersey 10 years ago and enjoyed the life and friends he made here.

He is survived by his sister, Else Rapold from Bern, Switzerland; his children, Karl P. Schroeder from Newton, New Jersey, Andree M. Carlson from Ferrisburgh Vermont, Heide (Daniel) Hannabass from Gambrills, Maryland, Blaise (Sharon) Schroeder from Burlington, Vermont, and Anneliese (John) Carbone from Crystal City, Virginia; grandchildren, Irena Hagan, Joseph Hagan, Erika Revell, Robert Carlson, Sarah and Alexandra Schroeder and Oskar and Alice Schroeder; great grandchildren, Lilah and Riley Cunningham, Liam Carlson and Amelia Groome, who loved him unconditionally and allowed him to live life on his terms even when it took him so far away.

He was predeceased by his former wife and the mother of his children, Anne I. Schroedersecker, and his parents, Oskar and Maria Schroedersecker.
