Kenney Carl Porter, age 73, a resident of Calera, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, after a brief illness from cancer.

Kenney was born on Oct. 6, 1943. He always had a love for old cars and trucks and in his later years, enjoyed showing off his favorite project, his 1948 Chevy.

Kenney is proceeded in death by his parents, Sidney Porter and Loretta Horton Porter, and step-brother, Allen Owens.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Porter; daughters, Kim Porter Parker (Rigg) and Kristy Porter Carney (Don); grandchildren, Mason Parker (Rachel), Jordan Parker Emmons (Carl), Ryan Carney, Brendan Carney, and Tyler Carney; great granddaughter, Avery Kate Parker; step-mother, Lona Porter; siblings, Ann Porter Wyatt (Frank), Aurbon Porter (Shirley), and Betty Porter Benson (Harry); step siblings Bo Owens (Pam) and Kay Dennis (William); as well as many nieces and nephews, that he loved with all of his heart.

Visitation will be at Sunday, Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) and service will be graveside on Monday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church.
