Roger Allen Land, age 73 of Jemison, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10.

He was born on March 13, 1943, in Jemison, son of the late S.M. Land and Essie Posey Land.

He was a welder.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Foshee Land of Jemison; daughter, Robin (Russell) Bentley of Columbiana; grandchildren, LeAnn Land, Chrissy Land, Katie Land, Landon Bentley, and Lakelyn Bentley; great-grandchildren, Christian Whitman and Griffin Land; daughter-in-law, Angie Land Jones; sisters-in-law, Janis Miller of Calera and Nell Yvonne Greenbauer of San Antonio, Texas; and special nieces and nephews, Amy (Nathan) Kendrick, Anna Kendrick, Kate Kendirck, Grey Kendrick, and Richard Greenbauer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, S.M. and Essie Land; and sons, Allen Land and Chris Land.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. from the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Lovett officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove #1 Church Cemetery in Jemison. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
