HOOVER – A new store focusing on organization and space-saving products and techniques opened on Dec. 5 in Inverness Village.
Space Cadets is located in Inverness Village shopping center at 5291 Valleydale Road Suite 121.
“Space Cadets brings together the best of a design center/showroom combined with a retail shop featuring organizing and space-saving products, that also specializes in offering the services of organizing and installing these quality products in client’s homes,” said Space Cadets owner Kim McBrayer. “It is everything necessary to simplify your life and get organized.”
The company originally started in 2001 as All Spaced Out, but it was McBrayer’s dream to offer a storefront with a retail and a design showroom all in one place.
The store offers a variety of organization accessories as well as a showroom and design center for closets and garages.
“My passion has always been to help people find ways to simplify their lives so they can enjoy the more important things in life,” McBrayer said. “This business is the fulfillment of my purpose to make a positive change in someone’s home or office and empowering my clients to love the spaces they live in.”
McBrayer said customers visiting the store for the first time are often surprised to find an “abundance of great ideas” to help get organized.
“All of the cool gadgets can almost be overwhelming, but that is why we are there to help find just the right solution for their specific needs,” McBrayer said. “We aren’t a big box retailer with a one-size-fits-all for the do-it-yourself-er. We try to understand the problem and customize a plan that will work for each individual.”
McBrayer said one of the reasons she decided to open a storefront is because she loves “cool organizing gadgets.”
“I love finding the latest smart solutions to the problems that affects us each day,” McBrayer said.
The store not only offers in-home organizing and installation services, but plans to launch a workshop series in January to share organizing tips and tricks.
“This will be a fun way of bringing together a community of people looking to learn new ways and get and stay organized,” McBrayer said.
Space Cadets is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon.
