Arrest made in Highland Lakes murder

NORTH SHELBY – A Chelsea man has been arrested for the death of a 37-year-old mother of two.
Adam Michael Burrus, 37, has been charged with murder and is being held in the Shelby County Jail with bond set at $500,000, according to a press release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
Constance Leigh Woolweaver, was found dead at her Highland Lakes home on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
Authorities responded to the 100 Block of Sheffield Way at about 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 14 after a report of a death, according to the SCSO.
Capt. Jeff Hartley said the victim was a mother of two children under age 12.
The case remains under investigation.
Sheriff John Samaniego expressed his condolences to Woolweaver’s family and friends.
“Under these circumstances, I feel words alone are not enough,” Samaniego said. “The loss of a relative or friend is always hard during the holidays, and if it is at someone else’s hand, that makes it all the more tragic. If I could, I would wish all of you some comfort through knowing that I believe the person responsible for her death is now in jail and awaiting trial.”
