Spain Park wrestler’s go 2-3 in Georgia

CARROLTON, GA – On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Spain Park wrestling team traveled to Carrolton, GA to compete in the Trojan Wars Wrestling Duals. The tournament featured several teams from across the southeast, and saw the Jags go 2-3 overall after they faced off against five different Georgia high school wrestling teams.
Spain park opened with a win over Calhoun High School 43-21. The Jags saw five pins in the match from Jake Harrison, Gaven Pudlik, Manny Allan, Goodwin Tidwell and Jacob Sharpe.
They dropped the next two matches in the tournament with losses to Marist High School, 60-21, and Carrolton High School, 59-18. The match with Marist saw the Jags get three pins, one from Jack Rivers, one from Jackson Janousek and one from Manny Allan. Allan also got a pin for the Jaguars against Carrolton, along with Jaxon Bast and Gavin Pudlick.
Spain Park rebounded with a win over Rockmart High School 54-24 behind pins from eight different Jags. Allan, Bast, Rivers, Anthony Milano, Dylan Adair, Jack Hudson, Ivor Phillips and Tidwell all had pins during in the win.
The Jags ended up dropping their final match of the tournament in a close battle with Pepperell High School 38-32. Rivers, Pudlick, Hudson and Tidwell all had pins in the losing effort.
Highlights for the Jags were Allan (195) who went undefeated for the day with four pins and one forfeit, and is also undefeated on the season; Rivers (106) who had three pins and a tech fall; Gaven Pudlik (126) who had a pin, a decision, and two forfeits; and Jaxon Bast (220) who had two pins and two decisions.
