Gerald Lee Blackmon, age 72, of Calera, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, John Wesley and Lennie Mae Blackmon, and brother, J. W. Blackmon.

His survivors include his wife of 47 years, Dianne Blackmon; daughters, Felicia Lang (Vince), Catreace Jones (Ray) and Wessica Wargo (Wesley); sisters, Joyce Hall, June Yarbrough and Doris Caputo; brother, James Blackmon (Annette); grandsons, Corey, Gregory, Chase, Jacob ,Trace and Carson; granddaughters, MaKayla and Cortlyn; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Sue Blackmon.

“Mr. Blackmon brought much joy and happiness to the community through his Christmas lights at CHRISTMAS FANTASYLAND. His greatest joy was God, his family and helping SANTA CLAUSE.”

A visitation will be Friday, Nov. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Maylene Pentecostal Lighthouse Church.
