Johnny E. Owens, of Alabaster, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the age of 82.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Olivia Bearden.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mamie Carden Owens; his son, David Owens; two daughters, Tami Bearden (Wayne) and Kris Faulkner (Billy); eight grandchildren, Destinee Patterson (Tracey), Elyse Bristow (Wes), Paden Bearden, Kadie Watson (Trey), Heather Owens, Logan Faulkner, Alan Owens, and Mia Faulkner; four great grandchildren, Ethan Prater, Gabriel and Gracelyn Bristow, and Mason Patterson; his sister, Barbara Johnson; and his “Little Buddy,” Rufus.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Nov. 12 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. The funeral service will follow at noon in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
