HELENA–The city of Helena Streets and Sanitation Department was invited to a luncheon on Oct. 21 by the Helena Beautification Board to show appreciation for their tireless efforts in helping maintain the city’s landscape and beautification project.
Before the barbecue luncheon, Board Chairman Chris VanCleave thanked the group for the hard work that they do for the city every day. The Streets and Sanitation Department’s effort directly affects the city’s livability rating.
“Everyone wants a beautiful town to live in, but few step forward to make it happen,” said VanCleave. “Through the partnership of the Beautification Board and the city; streetscapes are created and maintained in a sustainable and attractive way for all to enjoy. The hours that these men spend mowing, trimming and watering make all the difference in how people perceive the city.”
The Helena Beautification Board is an appointed board of the Helena City Council. The Board believes that people and places are profoundly connected and thriving communities are rooted in individual responsibility and action. They host a variety of opportunities for the community to come together and serve each year.
