HELENA–Parents with children in grades 3-6 who live in Helena and wish for their child to participate in youth basketball may now register for the league.
The youth basketball league, hosted by Helena Parks and Recreation, costs $140 per player and registration for the league is currently open online until Oct. 13.
Parents may register for the league in one of two ways–one being online and the other being a walk-in registration day on Tuesday Oct. 11 from 1-4 p.m. at the Helena Community Center. Sizing day for players will also be held on Oct. 11.
The basketball season runs from November-February with practices and games being held during the week at various Shelby County communities.
The game locations include the Helena Community Center, Thompson Intermediate School, Calera Intermediate School, Pelham High School and Montevallo High School.
