Chelsea drops Briarwood, Calera
With 2-0 wins over Calera and Briarwood on Thursday, the Chelsea Lady Hornets moved to 17-5 on the year. Chelsea took down Pelham, Briarwood and Calera this week, all in straight sets, and is in true midseason form. This week Taylor Hackett had 17 kills, 14 assists and 10 digs while Lexie Riggins had 15 kills, 20 digs and eight blocks and Jules Hamer had 16 kills and six blocks.
Pelham beats Helena in thriller
In a thrilling three-set match, the Pelham Lady Panthers beat cross-town rival and area opponent Helena 27-25, 25-23, 25-19 to move to 12-15 (1-1) on the year. Emorie Long had 10 kills and Grace Nolan had four assists and seven digs to help lead Pelham to the win.
Oak Mountain drops Spain Park
Oak Mountain welcomed in 7A Area 6 opponent Spain Park on Thursday night, and the Lady Eagles walked away with a three-set, 25-22, 25-20, 25-16 win to move to 10-7 (1-1) on the year, according to C2C.com. The Lady Jags fell to 1-3 in area play with the loss.
