HELENA–Helena United Methodist Church and the Helena Police Department are teaming up to host a free active shooter preparedness security training class on Oct. 4.

The free class titled, “Run, Hide, Fight,” was developed by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the training is open to anyone, but is especially important for anyone involved in church operations.

The free training will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 7-9 p.m. in the Helena UMC Sanctuary and no registration is required.

The training will be taught by Helena Police Lt. Brady Flynn and any questions may be directed to Brian Peters via email at brian@helenaumc.org.

Light refreshments will be available in the HUMC Fellowship Hall from 6:30-7 p.m prior to the training.

Helena United Methodist Church is located at 2035 Shelby County 58.
