HELENA–A variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and more will fill the Helena Amphitheater beginning Saturday, June 4, as Helena Market Days returns for the duration of the summer.
Helena Market Days will kick off June 4, from 8 a.m. to noon and will run every Saturday morning in the summer through Aug. 27.
Each Saturday will feature chef-cooking demonstrations, a variety of live music, local farmers from Helena, Clanton, Thorsby, Maylene, Jemison, Prattville, Five Points and more local artisans.
Helena Councilwoman Cris Nelson helps organize the Helena Market Days each year and said this year won’t be much different from years past, but each Saturday will vary when it comes to music and chef demonstrations.
“We’ve been doing this so long and we realize what works,” said Nelson. “This year won’t be much different, but we will have different chef demonstrations and live music. The Facebook page will be the best place for people to check for updates.”
Helena Market Days is a rain or shine event and a number of chefs, musicians, organizations and more have committed to be present at the Helena Amphitheater at various weeks throughout the summer.
These include Intermission, Heather Batey, Two By Two Animal Rescue, Thomas Trussel, Joe Sciarrotta with Hilton, Leah Rose, Jim Quakenbush, Bailey Ingle, Sticks and Strum, Walter Caron with Nino’s and Alicia Sherer.
