CLANTON—Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton has recently expanded its business through the acquisition of Bolton Funeral Home and Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera and a large cemetery in Childersburg.

J. Aaron Ellison, owner of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, said he is excited about seeing an already successful business expand its services into these new communities.

“This is something we’ve wanted to do for some time now,” Ellison said. “We’ve proudly served the communities of Central Alabama from our Clanton location for more than five years. With this expansion, we grow our ability to provide even more area residents with dependable, affordable funeral services and burial options. For our organization, it really is a dream come true.”

Bolton Funeral Home and Shelby Memory Gardens is located on Alabama 25, and Green Hill Memorial Gardens is located at 7447 Old Sylacauga Highway in Childersburg.

Both cemeteries are available immediately for graveside services and burials. Shelby Memory Gardens currently has five developed acres with 15 more ready for development. There are currently business offices at each location as well.

“We need a little time to get the funeral home chapel facility in Calera where we want it,” Ellison added. “We can host visitations and graveside services there right now. We can also coordinate church services from the Calera location. By summer, we believe we will have our chapel facility there up to our standards.”

Ellison indicated that after touring both cemetery facilities, he is even more pleased with the type of accommodations they offer.

“Our cemeteries are beautiful places to lay a loved one to rest,” he said. “The facilities are well-maintained and conveniently located as well.”
