Montevallo woman dies in Chilton County crash

JEMISON – A 20-year-old Montevallo woman was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital after the vehicle she was riding in was involved in a March 26 crash near Jemison.
The wreck happened at about 10:15 a.m. when a 2006 Pontiac G6 driven by 20-year-old Montevallo resident Megan Hall left Interstate 65 near mile marker 222, struck a ditch and overturned.
Lauren Elizabeth Shirah, 20, was riding as a passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck. Shirah was transported to UAB Hospital, where she later was pronounced dead.
Hall was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
As of March 26, Alabama State Troopers were still investigating the crash.
