Man charged with human trafficking in Pelham

PELHAM— The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested 28-year-old Ladarius Watts and charged him with second-degree human trafficking Feb. 29, according to his arrest warrant.
The warrant stated that Watts, who lists an address on Lamplighter Lane in Birmingham, allegedly transported a female victim to a hotel in Pelham for the purpose of a “paid sex act” on June 27, 2015.
Watts is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
Second-degree human trafficking is a Class B felony and carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
