STERRETT—A single vehicle wreck claimed the life on a Vincent man and closed down part of Alabama 25 near Sterrett in the afternoon of Feb. 23.

Guy Clayton Johnson, 80, was killed when his 2002 Ford Ranger left Alabama 25 and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to a news release from the Alabama State Troopers.

The accident occurred on Alabama 25 near Shelby County 55, one mile north of Vincent.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel reported to the scene the scene of the wreck and closed a section of Alabama 25 around 1:54 p.m., SCSO Deputy Debbie Sumrall said. The road remained closed for more than one hour.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the wreck. More information will be released as it becomes available.
