Woman charged with stealing from CVS, Walmart

PELHAM— The Pelham Police Department arrested 34-year-old Thyise Jones Feb. 6 on two felony charges of second-degree theft of property, according to court documents.
The documents state that Jones, who lists an address in the 4200 block of Fifth Avenue South in Birmingham, allegedly stole a total of about $2,947.82 worth of items from CVS Pharmacy and Walmart Jan. 23.
She allegedly stole 54 packages of over-the-counter medication and three packages of white strips valued at $1,668.99 from CVS Pharmacy, as well as multiple boxes of Nicorette gum, eight boxes of Prilosec, two boxes of Nexium, one box of ovulation and Rogaine foam valued at $1,278.83 from Walmart, according to Jones’ arrest warrants.
Jones is currently being held in the Shelby County jail on bonds totaling $20,000.
Second-degree theft of property is a Class C felony. According to Alabama state law, the maximum sentence for a Class C felony is 10 years in prison.
