Fun Friday: Mardi Gras

Laissez les bon temps rouler! ‘Tis the season for Mardi Gras, so Greystone will be jazzin’ up with N’awlins style hors d’oeuvres and drink specials for members Feb. 5 from 6-10 p.m. at the Founders Clubhouse. Live entertainment will be provided. Country club casual attire. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will include petit muffaletta sandwiches, blackened shrimp salad with crisp chips and kettle of jambalaya.

The “Riverchase Loves Artists” 10th annual popular art show will be held Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverchase Country Club, 2000 Club Road in Hoover. Admission is free and open to the public. A shuttle will run from the parking lot to the clubhouse. Food and drinks will be available. Local and regional artists will exhibit and sell various mediums of art. Hoover Service Club meeting
Barbara Randle invites the Hoover Service Club to have its February meeting at her home, the historic Hoover-Randle House, 2255 Tyler Road in Bluff Park, on Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. Box lunches (optional) are available for $11 each and include a chicken salad wrap, fruit cup, chips, cookie and beverage. There is limited parking at the house, so volunteers will transport club members to the house from the Hoover Country Club at 10:30 a.m. and then back to HCC. Drivers will also be available to take members back to HCC around noon.

Valentine’s Dinner at Legacy

The Hoover Service Club is hosting its 4th Annual Hearts and Harmony Gala, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. There will be dinner, dancing, a silent auction and music by the First Edition Jazz Ensemble. Reservations are due by Feb. 1 and are $100 per person.

Canadian singer songwriter Kellylee Evans will perform at the library Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Evans’s performances include soul, pop and hip-hop. She has three albums and two Juno awards. Tickets are $25.
