Calera man charged with possession of heroin

ALABASTER— The Alabaster Police Department arrested 32-year-old Brant Walker Jan. 29 and charged him with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Walker’s arrest warrant.
The warrant states that Walker was arrested on-view by patrol officers after they allegedly found 1.1 grams of heroin and a spoon on his possession. He was arrested near First Street South in Alabaster, according to the warrant.
Walker, who lists an address on Mcallister Drive in Calera, was transported to the Shelby County Jail and is currently being held on bonds totaling $6,000.
Possession of a controlled substance is a Class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia is a Class A misdemeanor. If convicted, Walker could spend up to 10 years in prison, according to Alabama state law.
