PELHAM— The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested 28-year-old Demario Davidson Dec. 23 and charged him with two felony counts of distribution of a controlled substance, according to Lt. Clay Hammac.
The Pelham Police Department initially made contact with the suspect, according to Hammac, after Davidson allegedly distributed marijuana on two separate occasions near the 600 block of Cahaba Valley Road.
Davidson, who lists an address in Crestline, allegedly distributed marijuana on May 14, 2015, and June 3, 2015, at the same location.
After the Pelham Police Department allegedly found marijuana in the suspect’s possession, Hammac said they contacted the drug taskforce. A warrant was issued for Davidson’s arrest Dec. 8, and he was apprehended Dec. 23.
Davidson was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was released Dec. 24 after posting bonds totaling $20,000. A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Distribution of a controlled substance is a Class B felony. According to Alabama state law, the suspect could spend up to 20 years in prison per charge if convicted.
