SCSO searching for suspected Inverness bank robber

HOOVER—The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has requested help from the public to identify a suspect in a Dec. 11 bank robbery in Inverness.

According to the SCSO, an unknown white male entered the Riverhills Branch Wells Fargo Bank in Inverness at approximately 4:09 p.m and demanded cash from the teller using a note.

The suspect allegedly left in a dark colored, four door car. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male with red hair and a trimmed beard in his late 20s to early 30s, between 5-feet-9-inches and 6-feet-1-inch in height with a larger build. According to the SCSO he was wearing square-shaped reading glasses while in the bank, a dark blue workman’s jacket and a blue baseball cap with “Ford” on the front.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
