CALERA— An 18-wheeler overturned on Main Street in Calera around 9:54 a.m. Nov 9, according to Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley.
Lemley said the truck, which was carrying a load of logs, overturned while turning onto U.S. 31 from County Road 25.
“It appears that the load shifted, which caused the truck to turn over,” he said.
Although the accident caused damage to the surrounding power lines and buildings, Lemley said there were no injuries. U.S. 31 closed temporarily while the crews worked to clean up the wreckage.
“It was a mess that we had to get the city crews to go out and get the logs up,” he said. “It damaged the power pole and it damaged a building.”
