PELHAM— The portion of County Road 52 near Donut Joe’s and the Pelham Police Department was shut down for about five minutes this morning related to problems with the CSX crossing arms.

According to Capt. Davy Lott, the CSX arm of the track closest to the department was malfunctioning the morning of Nov. 4, causing delays at that crossing.

When the arms came down over the track closest to Helena, a car tried to go around them and broke one of the arms off, according to Lott.

The CSX workers are currently working on preventing the issue from happening again, and the roads are currently open.
