Terry Pruitt Crumpton was arrested and charged with one count of electronic solicitation of a child and three counts of transmitting obscene material to a child. Crumpton was placed in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $120,000.

The investigation and arrest came after the ALEA Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a news release from ALEA stated.

“Our ICAC agents executed two separate search warrants today in Shelby County that stemmed from cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This resulted in the arrest of Crumpton and the seizure of electronic evidence,” Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier wrote. “Upon notification of the cybertip, our ICAC unit took immediate action and began an investigation. We will continue to aggressively investigate and assist in the prosecution of individuals who victimize our children.”

The second search warrant resulted in the seizure of electronic evidence, but the suspect was not arrested. The case will be presented to a grand jury.

A female at Crumpton’s residence was also arrested on an unrelated probation violation.

The ALEA Tactical Team and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office assisted ICAC agents on each search warrant. No additional information is available at this time in the ongoing investigation.
