Total of $20,000 offered for information in Beasley murder

Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama, the Hoover Police Department, Gov. Robert Bentley’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service are offering a combined $20,000 in rewards for information in the Sept. 5 murder of Xavier Beasley.

Beasley, 25, of Birmingham, was shot and killed while leaving his job at Home Depot on U.S. 280 after midnight.

According to the Hoover Police Department, it appeared Beasley was specifically targeted by an unknown gunman who had been waiting for him to walk into the parking lot.

Gov. Robert Bentley’s Office announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for Beasley’s murder on Sept. 23. To qualify for this reward, contact Hoover Police Sgt. Keith Czeskleba at 739-6795 or 822-5300.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to a warrant and arrest in the case. To qualify for this reward, contact Hoover Police Detective Josh Wall at 529-8572.

The Hoover Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for Beasley’s murder.

“The Hoover Police Department remains determined and committed in our efforts to solve this murder. We appreciate the support we’ve received from our local, state and federal law enforcement partners,” a news release from the Hoover Police Department read. “It is our hope that the reward money being offered will encourage someone to make the phone call that will provide the break that we need. Xavier’s family and our community deserve justice and closure.”
