Chelsea takes down Pell City

The Lady Hornets moved to 6-9 on the season with a commanding three-set win against Pell City, 25-13, 25-6, 2-8 to move to 2-0 in area play. Lexi Riggins had eight kills, six digs and four aces for Chelsea while Taylor Hackett had 11 assists and 5 aces and Jordan Legg had eight kills and eight assists.

 

Briarwood falls to John Carroll

Briarwood lost to John Carroll on Thursday night in straight sets, 25-11, 25-13, 25-11 to fall to 7-9 on the season. Trinity Tew had five blocks for the Lady Lions while Sophie Muir-Taylor had two kills, three digs and three blocks as well.

 

Thompson gets past Helena

Thompson improved to 5-8 on the year with a come from behind four set victory over Helena, 23-25, 25-6, 25-16, 25-22. Milea Ray had 17 kills and two blocks on the night, Jenni Beth Cox had 39 assists and Kailyn Lille had 18 digs and seven aces to lead the way for the Lady Warriors on the night.

 

Kingwood stays perfect

The Kingwood Lady Lions moved to 13-0 on the season with a straight set win over Bessemer Academy on Thursday night, 25-5, 25-16, 25-17. Kirsten Boyd had 27 assists, three aces and three kills while Kathryn Boyd had 17 kills, three digs, two blocks and an ace and Natalie Watts had 13 kills, five blocks, two aces and one dig to lead the way for Kingwood.

 

Oak Mountain outlasts Vestavia

The Lady Eagles of Oak Mountain battled back from an early set deficit, then held on late to take down Vestavia Hills and advance to 14-6 on the year. Oak Mountain won the match 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 19-25, 15-9. Kaitlyn Lund had seven kills, seven blocks, seven digs and three aces; Kathryn Beard had 19 assists, five digs and one ace; Cameron Rueschenberg had 22 digs, nine kills, four aces, and one block and Savannah Francis had 15 digs, seven kills and four aces to lead the way for Oak Mountain.

 

Spain Park gets beat by Hoover

Hoover continued its dominance in 2015 with a three set win over Spain Park, moving to 16-2 on the year while the Lady Jaguars fell to 4-9.
