HELENA–The Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be hosting its largest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the church’s Fall Bazaar returns with numerous vendors and fun for everyone.
The event is usually held twice a year in the spring and fall and vendors from around the Helena and Shelby County areas set up tents for those to come by and browse throughout the day.
Philicia Danner helps organize the Fall Bazaar and said that there won’t be much of a difference between the spring and fall bazaars, but there will be more vendors this fall.
“We have increased the number of vendors to 65 instead of 50,” said Danner. “Even if we hit 65 we will still accept more, they might just have to set up in a grass area instead of a parking lot.”
The money the church will make from the bazaar will go toward the church’s benevolent fund to help those in the community who are struggling to get by and in need.
Anyone is welcome to attend the Fall Bazaar and Danner said she already has 45 vendors signed up even though the event is still four weeks away.
“We will have all kinds of vendors including wood working, consulting, homemade dog treats, make your own scarves and we will even have a middle school student who will be selling Legos,” said Danner.
In addition to the vendors, there will be food, music, crafts and more.
Danner is also encouraging any high school students in need of community service hours to come out and volunteer so they can receive their “Give Me Five,” required community service hours.
Those wishing to sign up for a vendor space can do so by sending an email request to HCPCbazaar@yahoo.com.
Vendor spaces are available for $30 for a ten by ten space and if electricity is needed the cost is $35.
Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church is located at 3396 Helena Road in Helena.
