Pelham man involved in assault with baseball bat

PELHAM— The Pelham Police Department arrested 32-year-old Luis Morales-Primero Aug. 1 after the suspect allegedly beat another man with a baseball bat.
Morales-Primero, who lists an address in the 3000 block of Pelham Parkway, was charged with first-degree assault. He was booked into the Shelby County Jail Aug. 3 and is being held on a bond of $30,000.
According to his arrest warrant, his charges stem from an Aug. 1 incident where Morales-Primero allegedly used a baseball bat to strike the victim.
First-degree assault is a Class B felony. If the suspect is charged, he could serve up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $30,000.
