NORTH SHELBY—More than 100 members of the Church of the Highlands spent the day at Inverness Elementary School on Saturday, July 11, doing various projects for the church’s annual Serve Day.

Members of all ages arrived at the school early on July 11 to help spruce up the campus. Throughout the day, the group completed a number of projects, including pressure washing the sidewalks, shoveling rocks on the playground, planting new flowers and shrubbery and cleaning windows and playground equipment.

Inverness Elementary School Principal Christine Hoffman thanked the Church of the Highlands volunteers for their hard work.

“A million thanks! Without your effort and support, we could not imagine our campus looking this great,” Hoffman said. “We sincerely thank all of you for supplying needed equipment and materials and for donating your time on Saturday morning here at Inverness.”

The school appreciates the hard work of the volunteers and is looking forward to opening its doors to students in August with a new shine.
