“Swing in the spring with Columbiana!” is the Columbiana Beautification Board’s new city theme, and Music on Main has picked up the banner.
Great country and rock bands have been lined up to swing and dance the night away beginning Friday, May 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Music on Main is the highly anticipated event sponsored each year by the Columbiana Merchants and Professionals Association and the City of Columbiana.
Every Friday night from May to mid-August, South Main Street is closed at 5:30 p.m., and the stage is set up by the Street and Sanitation staff as Main Street is transformed into a concert venue.
Food is available within walking distance at Bernie’s on Main, Davis Drug Snack Shop and Johnny Ray’s. Bring your own chair and dancing shoes!
“There will be a variety of performances each week for everyone to enjoy,” said CMPA President Jim Davis. “We will have gospel, country, classic rock, Honky Tonk, oldies, blues and even Elvis. We will have some of our local favorites performing, so spend your Friday nights on Main Street in Columbiana from May to August.”
Music on Main is funded by donations from local merchants, professionals and citizens and funds are needed.
To donate, contact Donna Gannon, Renasant Bank, P.O. Box 977, Columbiana, AL 35051
