Oh My Sole! is the newest business to open in Old Town and is the dreamchild of proprietor Lori Tatum.
This location, with its appealing front porch, has a newly refurbished interior welcoming all fashionistas and features a quirky and custom display/check-out counter built by Keith Tatum.
It features a suspended canopy of up-cycled mattress springs.
Early in her career, Lori Tatum worked retail in shoes, then was employed by AT&T for 17 years.
This past Dec. 22, she learned that her job had been “surplused.”
After talking her new circumstances over with husband Keith, she decided to pursue her dream of owning a boutique with contemporary fashions, shoes and jewelry.
On Feb. 11, her new business license in hand and lease signed, she headed to market in Atlanta.
“This is my passion,” Lori smiles. “This building is perfect for retail and I’m excited to be opening near the new Coal Yard restaurant.”
Lori shares space with Abbey Thompson, who owns Party Art Studio, and offers painting parties for children and adults.
The spring weather currently allows the parties to be held on the porch.
Another section is devoted to monogrammed gifts and wearables by Anna Cobb of the Cobb’s Nest.
Up front are selections of her very popular Husky Spirit jerseys and raincoats. The Lemonade Stand features colorful kids clothing.
Oh My Sole is carrying several distinctive lines. Antelope is her semi-exclusive line of shoes—current styles include ultra-comfortable wedge sandals with an eye toward the popularity of fringe.
GURUS are eco-fashion footwear, sustainable farm fresh fashion made in India. Zaxy is a colorful slip-on flat packaged in an eye-candy designer box.
Kindred Spirit Style is a unique line of multi-patterned fabric purses and clutches made in Nashville and recently featured in Southern Living Magazine.
Oh My Sole has leather cuff bracelets that conceal a zippered money pocket.
Ask about their beaded bracelets that tell the story of Jesus—each element represents a time in Jesus’s life beginning with the bright star.
