Montevallo girls survive a close call against Bibb Co., stay alive in postseason

MONTGOMERY- The Lady Bulldogs of Montevallo survived to keep their season alive on Feb. 9 against Bibb County by a score of 39-36. The 4A area 7 champion Lady Bulldogs advanced to 24-7 on the year, and lived to play at least one more game, potentially more.

Freshman standout Lauren Lilly led Montevallo, as she has for much of the year, with 14 points on the night. Myshael Thompson led the way for the Lady Bulldogs on the boards with a 10-rebound effort.

With the win, Montevallo advances to face Munford in the regional semifinals. The game will take place at 6:00 on Feb. 16 in Montgomery, with a berth for the Elite Eight on the line.
