PELHAM- The Alabama state parks, including Pelham’s Oak Mountain State Park, will be offering free camping on Feb. 8-12 in a show of appreciation to their customers.

The event will allow campers to stay for five nights based upon the availability of each park’s campsites. The free camping event applies to each park’s improved and primitive campsites and is not open to extended-stay campers. Each park will accept prior or day of reservations.

Alabama State Parks will also be offering a 50 percent off discount for all lodging at state parks with hotels and cabins available during the customer appreciation period.

Oak Mountain State Park is a participant in the customer appreciation event, and is located in Pelham. The park offers a variety of activities from hiking to a petting zoo and contains the Alabama Wildlife Center.
