HOOVER – A Helena man died in a single-vehicle accident on Valleydale Road on Saturday, Oct. 24, according to a press release from the Hoover Police Department.

Hoover Police and Fire Departments responded to a single vehicle accident on Valleydale Road near the entrance to the Spain Park Sports Complex at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, according to the release.
A 2002 Ford Escape traveling southwest on Valleydale left the roadway and overturned. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene by fire department medics.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Thomas Giffen of Helena.

Hoover Police Traffic investigators continue their efforts to reconstruct the accident scene and determine its cause.
