HARPERSVILLE—A Harpersville man could face 20 years in prison after he was arrested and charged with three counts of theft of property in the first degree.
Steven Michael Tucker, 28, is currently in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $30,000.
Tucker, who lists an address on the 100 block of Kristi Lane in Harpersville, was arrested by the Harpersville Police Department on Sept. 8 and charged with three counts of theft of property in the first degree.
According to court documents, Tucker was arrested after he allegedly did “knowingly obtain or exert unauthorized control over” a 1991 Honda 4-wheeler, a 2007 Kawasaki 4-wheeler and a 2006 Kawasaki 4-wheeler “on or about” April 5.
Theft of property in the first degree is a Class B felony. If found guilty, Tucker could face up to 20 years in prison for each charge.
Tucker is set to appear before Judge Dan Reeves on Oct. 2 at 8:30 a.m. for a preliminary hearing.
