Shelby County BOE appoint assistant principal at Calera High School

ALABASTER—The Shelby County Board of Education unanimously approved Michael Jones as the new assistant principal at Calera High School during a meeting on Sept. 4.
Jones, who has seven years experience in education, was most recently the administrative assistant at Calera High School and the College and Career Center.
Jones obtained a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance from the University of Southern Mississippi, a master’s degree in collaborative education from the University of Alabama, a master’s degree in instructional leadership and an educational specialist degree in teacher leadership from the University of Montevallo.
During the meeting, Jones thanked the board and said he was “very excited” for his new position.
“I strive each day to prepare students for the journey ahead,” Jones said.
