CALERA—Timberline Golf Club is excited to announce the arrival of the Hank Johnson School of Golf. Head Golf Professional Joe Kruse approached the instruction staff at the Hank Johnson School of Golf to grow the game in and around Calera and the surrounding Birmingham communities.
“The addition of the Hank Johnson School of Golf has propelled Timberline to the forefront of golf instruction in the Birmingham area,” Kruse said. “If someone wants to learn how to play golf or wants to improve their game we want them to immediately think of Timberline and the Hank Johnson School of Golf. Hank and his staff have very high standards with their instruction, personalization, and professionalism, just as we have for all of our staff at Timberline.”
The school of golf began this summer by launching four summer camps beginning the first week of June. Scott Hassee, lead instructor for the school, loves kids and has a strong reputation for building excellent junior golf programs.
“I love teaching golf, especially to juniors. Kids are a sponge. Give them the right information and they’ll improve, make it fun and they’ll play for a lifetime,” Hassee said.
Teaching alongside him in the camps were Kruse PGA and the school’s Associate Instructor, Corey Fortner PGA and recent graduate of the PGA Golf Management program at Mississippi State University.
Overseeing all of these programs as the director of instruction is the founder of the school of golf, Hank Johnson. Johnson has been teaching the game for over 50 years, receiving dozens of accolades over that time, including the prestigious PGA Instructor of the Year award in 2004.
The Hank Johnson School of Golf will continue their strong start this fall by offering two weekly junior golf programs after school beginning in September. To setup lessons or to sign up for these programs visit Timberlinegc.com or Hankjohnsonschoolofgolf.com or call 205.529.8546.
