Walker named professional development supervisor

COLUMBIANA—Dr. Angela Walker was approved as the new professional development supervisor for Shelby County Schools during a June 5 meeting of the Shelby County Board of Education.
“Thank you all so much for this opportunity. I look forward to supporting our administrators and our system,” Walker said.
Walker, a national board certified teacher with over 25 years of experience in education, is currently the principal at Mt. Laurel Elementary School. Walker earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, an educational leadership certification and a master’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Walker also earned a doctorate in early childhood education with an emphasis in educational leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
