INDIAN SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hoofin’ It 5K & 10K Trail Run, a race to benefit Special Equestrians, is set for June 7 at 8:30 a.m. at Indian Springs School.

Considered “the flattest and fastest trail race you’ll run all year,” according to the event’s Facebook page, the race will start at the Special Equestrians’ stable and take runners through the fields, forests and lakeside that surrounds Special Equestrians.

“Runners will pass our grazing horses and the beautiful creek that runs through Indian Springs’s campus,” the event’s website reads.

Each runner’s bib number will include a magnetic chip that keeps track of exact start and finish times. Participants will receive a text message and email confirming their time within minutes of crossing the finish line.

Online registration is $30 through May 31 and $35 through June 4 at http://register.dg-racing.net/search/event.aspx?id=26136. Online registration will close at 11:59 p.m. June 4. Race day registration, also $35, will be from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. at Indian Springs School.

Race proceeds will benefit Pelham-based Special Equestrians, founded in 1985 to provide therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted activities and therapies to persons with physical, mental, developmental and emotional disabilities.
