SBA to open Hoover office to assist Shelby County flood victims

HOOVER — The Hoover City Council April 21 agreed to provide temporary office space to the U.S. Small Business Administration to serve victims affected by recent flooding in the area.
The Hoover Public Safety Center at 2020 Valleydale Road will be the site of the SBA relief center, which will serve those whose homes or businesses suffered flood damage in Bibb, Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Tuscaloosa and Walker counties.
Property owners and business owners may be eligible for disaster loans, which can be used to repair or replace items damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.
An opening date is pending.
